Mumin Islam

Mumin has been working in the water sector for over 17 years undertaking various leadership and strategic roles within both larger water companies to smaller water-only companies in the UK. He is currently Head of Innovation at South Staffs & Cambridge Water and a Non-Executive Director for Waterwise, as well as recently appointed to the Board for Spring, the Centre of excellence for accelerating innovation across the UK and Ireland.

Mumin has a track record of leading successful projects and delivering complex programmes. This includes recently leading South Staffordshire Water’s five-year Business Plan submission covering the investment planning period between 2025 and 2030. He previously led Affinity Water’s Water Resources Management Plan published in 2020 at a time of significant change in both regulatory and stakeholder requirements and expectations.

Mumin has also successfully secured and led several Ofwat (the UK water regulator) innovation funded projects. Mumin was the main architect and project lead in delivering the Ofwat funded innovation project – Water efficiency in faith and diverse communities. He has a strong passion for water efficiency and working with hard-to-engage communities and is currently the Waterwise Board champion for EDI (equity, diversity and inclusion).
